DocuPencil does not require a Bluetooth connection. Simply double-click the button on the pen head to turn it on for use on the iPad. If you encounter a situation where DocuPencil does not respond when used on the iPad, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Ensure your iPad model was manufactured after 2018
Compatible iPad models:

- iPad mini (5th generation and later)
- iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
- 11-inch iPad Pro (1st generation and later)

Please refer to: DocuPencil Compatible Device List
2. Ensure that DocuPencil is correctly turned on and fully charged
When turning on, it will first display the current battery level, and after about 3 seconds, the working indicator light will show. If the pen’s screen is completely black, quickly double-click the button on the pen head to turn it on.
3. Check if your iPad has been paired with an Apple Pencil
If there is a record of Apple Pencil being paired in the iPad system, no other iPad styluses can be used regardless of whether the Apple Pencil is currently connected or not. Therefore, please follow the steps below to unpair the Apple Pencil.
- Go to "Settings" → "Bluetooth," find the Apple Pencil in the list of Bluetooth devices, click
, and then click "Forget this Device."
4. If you have recently replaced the spare nib, please check whether the nib is fully locked in
if nib is not tightly locked, it will affect the signal transmission of DocuPencil, so make sure the nib is fully tightened.
